Reunion Weekend: 9/16-9/18

Happy Friday!

I want to give a special shout-out to Charmaine “Charmin” Davis.  She is my right hand woman when it comes to planning this weekend extravaganza and the two of us are holding weekly conference calls to make sure that the logistics of this weekend are smooth.  We’ve decided to host our 10-year reunion  weekend on Friday, September 16-Sunday, September 18, 2011.  This is a confirmed date that we’ve established with CCHS’ alumni office so feel free to make travel plans!  Currently not established is the cost.  I am still waiting on Tracey from the Alumni Office to follow up with the Finance Office on the amount of money left in our class budget.  The class budget amount will help us determine how much we will need to charge people for the activities.  Also not established is a host hotel. Charmaine is currently working on identifying a hotel with special pricing and that will hopefully be posted by the next update.

Friday, September 16, 2011:  Blast from the Past

  • Time TBD  Reunion Check-In at CCHS
  • Time TBD  Central Catholic High School tour
  • 5:30 PM    Tailgating in CCHS parking lot (featuring food from some local Toledo favorites :))
  • 7:00 PM    Football Game: CCHS Fighting Irish vs. Clay Eagles

Saturday, September 17, 2011:  All Grown Up

  • 9:00 AM   Girls Varsity Volleyball vs. Irish Invitational  (Optional)
  • 5:30 PM   Reunion Check-In
  • 6:00 PM   Class Dinner at Georgio’s Cafe International

Sunday, September 18, 2011: Reflections and Moving Forward

  • Time/Location TBD: If you are a member of a church and would like to list it on the schedule as an option, please let me know!
  • Time/Location TBD: Class Brunch Meeting (optional) on what we as a class can do to improve alumni relations and the types of contributions we should be making as CCHS alums.
  • Time/Location TBD:  Bowling
Some of you may be asking, well the picnic seemed to be a popular choice on the survey.  I searched and searched and searched and the only facilities available were two outdoor picnic shelters at Wildwood Park.  All the indoor shelters are pretty much reserved through October and I didn’t want to take a chance in having something completely outdoors. Also shout-outs to Monique Wingard (slideshow guru) and Michael Smith (location scouter) for volunteering their time and services to assist with the reunion planning as well!  If you are interested in helping with reunion (we will definitely need people to help with check-in and set-up for the tailgate) or have services/talents that you think will be handy, please send me an facebook message or leave your info in the CONTACT SECTION Oh, and please update your alumni information on CCHS’ official facebook page.  Thanks! From this point forward I will post reunion updates bi-weekly!  I hope to open up reunion registration by June 1, 2011.  Again,  update your alumni information so that you may receive a formal reunion invitation in the mail 🙂  Additionally, send pictures for the slideshow/video to toledocchs2001@gmail.com.  Monique will be putting this together and is currently working on a photo sharing group for folks to upload their photos.
